Make Water Great Again!

22 February 2017 is National Healthy Lifestyle Awareness Day.

Around the world, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) linked to nutrition, such as heart disease and cancer, are leading to death and disability. As obesity is more prevalent among low and middle income

The same health anxieties are relevant to South Africa, where studies show 91% of urban South Africans are turning towards sugary drinks instead of water. Over two thirds of South Africans are overweight and we are the most obese nation in Sub-Saharan Africa.

HEALA decided that it is the perception of water that needs to change. Water flushes out toxins from our body, improves our mood, prevents headaches, and maintains healthy circulation. Most importantly, it is not sugar and therefore has long-term health benefits for our whole country.

How can we make water great again for a healthier South Africa?
